CAR PARK
Competitors may use the golf club car park. The Scottish Golf Union and Cardross Golf Club cannot accept responsibility for any loss, theft or damage to cars. Parking is limited within Cardross Golf Club car park, and parking within Cardross Golf Club car park will e on a first come first served basis. Cardross Church Hall car park may be used as an overflow car parking area A pick up and drop off system will operate outside the clubhouse. Please obey the instructions of the car park attendants on duty.

COMPETITORS PLEASE NOTE:
Major roadworks are planned to finish on the main road adjacent to Cardross Golf Club on Friday 20th July 2012, but may overrun. If this happens the main road from Helensburgh to Cardross will be closed. Competitors seeking accommodation are strongly advised to book accommodation on the Dumbarton side of the Golf Club, and allow for extra travelling time to Cardross Golf Club to cater for any delays due to the roadworks.

CATERING
Coffee, tea and morning rolls will be available from 06.30am for the first two days and from 07.00am on the final day. Bar snacks & meals will be available all day until close of play. All catering is at the competitor's expense.

Catering on the official practice day (Monday 23rd July) will start at 8.00am and will be from a reduced menu.

Any competitors or their families wishing to dine in the Clubhouse in the evening may do so by booking a table in advance with the catering staff.

CLUBHOUSE
The Clubhouse will be open for competitors and their families use from 6.00am on the first 2 days of the championship and at 6.30 on the final day of play.
In all clubhouse areas casual wear is acceptable for competitors, but must be smart. THE WEARING OF T-SHIRTS, FOOTBALL & RUGBY SHIRTS, JEANS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. Shorts are permitted if tailored. Hats must be removed before entering the clubhouse. Shoes worn on the golf course may not be worn inside the clubhouse.

Competitors shall not be allowed to purchase alcoholic drinks.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND ON THE COURSE.

Changing facilities are available in the gents locker rooms. Competitors planning to use showers are advised to bring their own towel.

COURSE AND PLAY
Competitors will play one round of stroke play on both Tuesday 24 & Wednesday 25 July. The top 40 qualifiers and those tying on 40th place will play two rounds on Thursday 26 July. The draw for Thursday will be made as soon as possible after close of play on Wednesday.

Competitors must report to the SGU Championship Mobile Office at least 30 minutes prior to their starting times that are shown in the official draw sheet.

Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions, pace of play guidelines and insurance certificate when registering at the SGU Championship Mobile Office.

CADDIES ARE NOT PERMITTED AND COMPETITORS ARE REMINDED THAT THEY MUST NOT SEEK OR ACCEPT ADVICE FROM PARENTS, OTHER COMPETITORS OR ANY OTHER PERSON. NB. "Advice" is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke.

INSURANCE
Your entry fee includes cover in respect of competitor’s legal liability in the event of them causing injury to another person or damage to a third party property.

PRACTICE
The club has kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round, on Monday 23 July between 8.00am & 5.00pm. Competitors must telephone the professional’s shop (tel: +44 (0)1389 841350) in advance to make a booking. Times are available on a first come first served basis. Competitors unable to practice on Monday 23 July may arrange an alternative time by prior arrangement with the club.

Competitors may play an additional practice round at the discounted price of £15.00 per round.

Each competitor must report to the professional’s shop prior to starting his practice round. Competitors may play from the championship tees. Other than in accordance with the rules of golf, a competitor in a practice round must not have more than one ball in play - exception - if a player misses the green with his shot to the green he may play one additional shot.

There is a limited practice ground available that will accommodate up to a maximum of 4 players. Play from this area is restricted to short irons only. Players are reminded to be respectful of competitors on the course when making their way to the practice area, and to cease practice when competitors are playing their approach shots to the 18th green.

On Tuesday 24th July and Wednesday 25th July, the practice range will open at 6.15am. On Thursday 26th July, the practice range will open at 6.45am.

Competitors may use World of Golf Driving Range for additional practice facilities. This facility is 11.9 miles from Cardross Golf Club. It is not affiliated with Cardross GC and charges will apply at the competitors expense.

TROLLEYS & YARDAGE BOOKS
Trolleys are available for hire from the professional’s shop on a first come first serve basis. There are 16 pull trolleys available for hire (£3.00 per round), and 5 electric trolleys available for hire (£10.00 per round). Yardage books are available for purchase at £5.00 per yardage book.
REGISTRATION & PLAY
Competitors must register at least 30 minutes prior to their morning starting times at the SGU Championship Office. Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions and pace of play guidelines when registering.

COMPETITORS MUST REPORT TO THE OFFICIAL STARTER AT THE FIRST TEE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THEY ARE DUE TO PLAY. Competitors are reminded that under the penalty for a breach of Rule 6-3a, if the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole in stroke play. Otherwise, the penalty for breach of the Rule is disqualification.

ETIQUETTE
In the interests of all, each competitor should play without delay, leave a bunker as he would expect to find it, replace divots and repair pitch marks. During practice players should only have one ball in play. Exception: in the event a player misses the green with his approach shot he may put another ball into play.

PRESENTATION
The Championship trophy and medals will be presented at the close of play on Thursday 26 July. All medal winners are expected to be present.

RANKINGS
The Scottish Boys Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship is an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event and for Scottish players counts toward the SGU Order of Merit.

RESPONSIBILITY
Cardross Golf Club and the Scottish Golf Union cannot accept responsibility for players’ property during the championship or on the days when practice is permitted.

Cardross is less than 6 miles from the world renowned Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and only 20 minutes from Glasgow Airport.

From Glasgow: Take the M8 West, Greenock, Glasgow Airport. Continue on until junction 30 heading for Erskine Bridge and join the M898, continue on the A898 eventually crossing Erskine bridge. Merge onto the A82, Crianlarich. At Dunglass roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A82. Follow signs for the A814 listed Dumbarton town centre, Helensburgh. Continue on the A814 until you reach the destination on the right hand side.
